Bourgeoisie

“In Marxist theory, [bourgeoisie] is most strictly employed in opposition to ‘proletariat‘, where it refers to the owners of productive capital  (and thus to mercantile, industrial, and financial entrepreneurs). What distinguishes the bourgeoisie is that they have no need to sell their labour in order to survive.” (Edgar and Sedgwick 32).
